My father is Ken L Dawson and my mother is Mary F Trujillo Dawson. I know more about my moms side because I was blessed with her for 20+ years and would beg her to tell me stories. I wish now I would of recorded every word she said but find ancestors has now become a new hobby.
My dad's family I know very little to nothing besides a few names and a few locations. Its been fun learning and finding out as much as I can.
My dad does have a little brother that was adopted when he was an infant, 6 months or so by my dad's grandparents. We've never located him, it was after my grandfather killed himself (Robert James Dawson) and my grandmother returned to Indianan from Colorado. She served him divorce papers the day he killed himself. She was supposed to go set back up in Indiana and come back for the 3 kids, my dad, his sister and baby brother. Before she could my dad's grandparents (Robert & Mary Dawson) turned the 3 kids over to the state of Colorado. Like I mentioned the baby was adopted but my dad & his sister never were and they grew up going from orphanages, group homes, foster homes until my dad emancipation himself to join the military and Marry my mom.
My parents were married October 1975 and until my fathers last breath November 2017 they fought for their marriage , friendship and family. My mother is still married to my father, he's just not here at the moment but one day (hopefully not soon) they'll be together again.
