I'm one of the great-great grandchildren of Lawrence W. Beals, who donated the land for the Beals Cemetery near the town of Vale in Butte County, South Dakota (also known as "Old Vale Cemetery" and "Vale Cemetery #1"). My siblings and I are in the process of upgrading the entrance gate and signage for this cemetery. In 2024, we're in the process of securing grant funding from several local organizations to assist in these upgrades. Cemetery is located at Lat: 44° 37' 08"N, Lon: 103° 26' 16"W, Vale Township, Section 31 and is owned and maintained by the Vale Cemetery Association. UPDATE: Upgrades were completed & dedicated on July 1, 2024.
