Variant early scribe-form : Ousflet, Ouseflete, Useflete, Husflet, Husflete, Usflet, etc. Note : a tanscripton also Ufflete, etc., but wrongly translated, an "sf" looking like a double "ff".

Alfter reading Ousefleet village postings, e.g., by Raymond & Marie [Mr & Mrs Ella] go via Table of Contents to Adlingfleet then Whitgift also The Villages page, it with a map siting where there use to be the Whitgift jetty ferry, long before most river bridging crossings in that area.

Ousefleet juxta Whitgift : the first Saint Mary Magdalene church was built c.1130, the re-build c.1304, both sanctified to Mary of Magdalene and the church on the boundry of Ousefleet and Whitgift; hence "juxta".

At the time or earlier than c.1130 there was a Feast/Fair of "The Blessed Mary Magdalene" yearly. ( feast of mary magdalena of magdala ).
