I'm photographing, transcribing, and where necessary setting up pages for unlisted /unphoto'd headstones that I find in various places in Britain, both near home and further afield. I'm not GPS-enabled yet, so I try to get an additional "context photo" to help you find the grave-site.

I got into this through my own family history research. One photo that I found posted here from New York, on Christmas day no less, was an absolute brick-wall-smasher for my genealogical efforts , bringing me two long-lost great-great uncles and their wives, full dates and all four deaths in one fell swoop! The power of a picture indeed...!

So I'm motivated by gratitude to this wonderful enthusiastic community whose dedication and care have found me my emigrant family on the other side of the world, where realistically I'm probably never going to travel. I hope to return the favour to anyone seeking their ancestors back here in the UK.

None of the pages I start or the photos I upload are my relatives. I'm not precious about owning/managing pages, so if you find family here as I did, and you fit the relative guidelines, Please do claim your relatives!
