Grew up in Village Mills, Texas. I was always proud of my little town. Back when steam engines did the work in the mills, Village Mills set a record for the most board feet to go through the mill.

I started my journey into genealogy in the late 1980's. I wanted my kids to know where our family came from. Turns out, my mama's side of the family was from Tyler, Polk, and Livingston Texas. Later I became the library director in Kountze and Groves. I moved into the new phase of genealogy when Ancestry first came out.
