I have been doing our family's ancestry research for over 30 years--ever since my mom gave me a box with very old family daguerreotype photos and other items only to discover my Paternal Grandmother was an American from Altoona, Pennsylvania. I had always been told we were from Europe and had no American heritage. That discovery led me to travel to Altoona to meet up with a woman who is distantly related. This kind woman introduced me to Altoona's Historical Society and their archives. From there she helped me discover and locate my Great Grandparents along with 6 generations of my relatives. Since then, I have met cousins who have been living within a State or two from me my entire life and had no idea they existed. I continue to research and am enjoying the journey!
