As the manager of St. Mary's Cemetery I will frequently update "Plot Information" on profiles of people interred at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline IL. If I suggest an edit for plot information, I am providing the exact plot information the way it is recorded in our records. The volunteers who are here all the time taking pictures and updating the GPS, as well as the companies who come here to do final date engraving, will be able to find graves based on the information I provide.

Traditional graves are recorded as follows: Section/Block/Lot/Grave so an example would be "S/5/4/2" (Some older sections do not have a "Lot" number)

Mausoleum Crypts are recorded as follows: "Number-Letter" for example "148-E" would be column 148, row E.

Lawn Crypts are recorded as follows: "Letter-Number" for example "J-11" would be row J, column 11.

Cremation Niches are recorded with just a number for example "#356"

Just because plot information may not make sense to a profile manager who hasn't set foot in our cemetery, does not mean that it is inaccurate or that it won't make sense to the people who actually visit.
