It seems I have always been interested in my family genealogy. I have used court house records, libraries, cemeteries, National archives, microfilm, family Bibles, family reunions, family photos and passed down family history. With today's digital access to Ancestry, Family Search, and Find a Grave, I have expanded and enriched my research. My husband, daughter and I enjoy spending quality time together visiting local cemeteries to add new memorials, add grave photos, identify Veterans, and GPS grave plots. I began managing FG memorials of my family and recently request to manage memorials available by Find a Grave. I am sure you agree, it is essential to keep the memorials we accept to manage as accurate as possible. Therefore, I will accept suggested edits promptly when source(s) are included in the note section of each suggested edit. Thanks for your cooperation.

How can I request to manage a relative's memorial?
- Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. You can add photos and suggest corrections without managing a memorial. With millions of members, there will be many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all members to manage their entire tree.
- Memorials are transferred for relatives with these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships.
If two members are related within these guidelines and both would like to manage the memorial, the member with the closer relationship should be given management.
- Always explain your relationship in the request! Keep in mind that the memorial manager may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. You may also want to include your specific interest in the memorial.
To request a transfer we ask that you contact the manager of the memorial. Go to the memorial in question, click on 'Suggest Edits' and scroll down to the 'Contact Manager' button. Select it and type your message to the memorial manager. Be sure to include your relationship to the person and any other reason for the transfer request. Send yourself a copy of the request by checking the box. This message will be sent to the member, even if there is not an email address listed on their profile.
Memorial or part of a memorial:
If you find a memorial for an immediate family member on the site that you would like removed, visit the Contact Page and click "Account Question or Support Request." Please be sure to include the memorial ID, your relationship and any other details.
Why can't I find a memorial for the person buried in that cemetery?
Find a Grave is a volunteer project. People add information to the site by walking a cemetery and taking pictures, or from obituaries, other records or from information they have about family members. We may not have all the burials in a given cemetery, just those that people have added. If you can't find someone on the site, it's probably just because no one has added them yet.
If you know the burial information for someone, you can create a memorial for them by clicking the "Add Memorial" button on the homepage. Once the memorial has been created you can request a photo for the memorial by clicking the "Request Photo" button. If we have volunteers in the area, we will notify them of your request.
