I am a novelist. My historical fiction novel, PECHEWA: AN AMERICAN ODYSSEY is about the Joseph and Catharine Bright family of Howard County, Indiana. All six sons were soldiers in the American Civil War. My novel VILE FIGS is based on the RATHFON/MILLER family from Howard County, Indiana and how their lives were affected by the lead mining industry near the boom town of Galena, Kansas.
