After 42 years of active service I retired as Major in the Intelligence Corps from the Royal Dutch Army. After 6 years in the Royal Netherlands Navy when I sailed the 'seven seas' I switched to the Army for officers training. Although i've been trained as Signals officer, I kind of rolled into the intelligence community via Electronic Warfare. I've done 8 tours in various missions, twice in Bosnia, four in Afghanistan and two in Iraq/Kuwait.
I'm living in Druten (near Nijmegen/the Netherlands) with my wife and cats, being member of our veteran society in our municipality of Druten where we take care of all the war graves in that municipality. I'm also a volunteer writer/researcher for the non-profit website TracesOfWar.nl / .com where we publish articles on all kinds of topics related to World War II.
