I am intrigued by my family history and how so many of our local families have interwoven over the decades. There have been members of my family living within a 10-mile circle of our property since the mid 19th century. The people native to the Ozarks aren't particularly political, socially engaged, or enamored with the notion of amassing wealth. We really just want to care for our families, find a walk with God, and eat whatever we can hunt, raise, or gather from this less-than-fertile soil. I've travelled much of the world, but the urge to return home was much too strong. My beautiful wife and I have made our stand on rocky ground and our souls have found a peace that is difficult to describe.
