Bio

Retired and needing exercise, photographing resting places is a perfect activity for me. It means being part mountain goat! But I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's invigorating to still be learning so much, every day, fulfilling requests and adding to many that have no photos. My 'little gray cells' are having a great time!

~~~I have become a reuniter of families. When I see a memorial with no or few connections, I strive to find more family members for the person. My research sources are limited, but I usually manage to find pertinent vital information, sometimes even some personal history. Our ancestors lived interesting lives. We are because of them.
~~~It may look like I'm not busy, but unseen is the number of Edit Suggestions I've made to memorials (6,900+ td). I believe descendants deserve as much available information as possible, and I'm willing and glad to provide what I find.

~~~I am extremely grateful to, and in awe of, the myriad individuals who have preceded my efforts. I am merely continuing to add to the valuable information they have recorded. There are more resources available now (2025) with data than there were 15-20 years ago.
~~~Personally I disapprove of displaying death certificates. I like to list or mention in a Bio the relatives, geographic locations and dates, things that are clues to identities. And to preserve the dignity they deserve, I will not include death cause.

~~~I do not believe contemporary obituaries should be added to a Bio. If insisted, edit to include only information about the person's interests and history.
~~~I research on Family Search because US Census pages are visible, as are military documents, marriage certificates, and more. Spellings aren't always accurate, or legible, but enough information can be to prove connection. Missouri death certificates are also a possible place to find leads to more relatives, dates and locations.

~~~Also, FYI - I'm just working in Mount Washington Cemetery, and am only able to locate graves that have the garden and plot number mentioned. There are way too many graves, and the terrain is very challenging, and I can't print off 7,000 memorials in alphabetical order to refer to as I'm walking around to look for No Grave Photos.
~~~Occasionally I find headstones for names on the list, in the same Garden but without plot number! Those are bonus photos! Especially if they have requests, too! Double bonus. And if they have no memorial, I create it. (Summer is NOT the season for photographing here!)

~~~So, if you have the garden and plot info, message me and add it to the memorial. I'll try to get to it but I won't promise. I hope this makes sense.
~~~And if your cemetery's staff is doing a good job maintaining it, let them know. Ask them if they need any help. Groundskeeping is a neverending challenge!

~~~If you'd like to manage one I create, I'll transfer it. Some have not been known to descendants. And now they're found. I'm just glad I can help.
P.S. I'm old-fashioned and cannot help proofreading, so I may ask you to correct a spelling or merge duplicates. I thank you in advance.
