In late 2024, my wife and I decided to purchase a headstone for her grandparent's graves to replace their in-ground burial plaques that had been destroyed by a cemetery mowing crew over 20 years ago. While contacting the cemetery, we learned that an infant had been buried with my wife's grandmother when she passed away way back in 1925. Talking to our family members, some said they had heard about this fact, but most had not!  So we started doing some research; looking at the on-line genealogy sites, searching for her obituary information from the newspapers at the library, getting death certificates from the state, etc. Turns out she was pregnant with a son when she passed away from pneumonia way back in 1925. Nobody knew! The task and thrill of finding out about my wife's grandmother started the itch in me about learning more about my family.

So, in 2025, after researching both sides of my family, I decided to join Find A Grave to create Memorials for my brothers and a grandfather who did not have memorials on Find A Grave along with several aunts and uncles that also did not have memorials. During my research, I have found many details (full birth dates, death dates, places where a person was born and or died, spouse information, etc,) that could be updated to a relative's already created Memorial on Find A Grave.

It warms my heart to see the Memorials of my family members being updated with information that I have uncovered that has been added to their existing Memorials on Find A Grave. Again , thank you to all the volunteers managing Memorials on Find A Grave!
