As part of an audit of Blk-22 of St Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ, we are attempting to catch up on missing photos, missing or misplaced people, irregular plot addresses, and adding GPS coordinates to every memorial.

A note about the syntax of the plot location identifier: Catholic cemeteries have, over the centuries, developed cemetery management into a science. They have a very logical and consistent method of formatting the plot locations. Since it opened in 1933, St Gertrude has been using the Catholic system, and 85% of the plots are now specified using this format. Around 2011, a third-party web program (RCANCEM) was acquired to help owners manage their plots. Different denominations use this application; therefore, location information is not formatted. This has created confusion when using Find a Grave's extensive sorting features. Memorials with non-formatted plot locations do not show up in standard sorts. It would be helpful if raw data from RCANCEM were formatted using the Catholic method. This would enhance search results from the Find a Grave application. Regards
