I've always been interested in hearing my family members talk about their military service, for years it caught my attention. In recent years I've became I big history buff. Then one day I got the idea in trying to find family members in other wars I've been learning about. Because I'd like to know the rolls my ancestors played in these historical events. Now I have discovered numerous WW2, Confederate, and even a few Union veterans that my family had. I had a 6th great-grandfather, a General Brigadier, in the war of 1812, found another Vietnam vet, a Korean War vet, some revolutionary war veterans, (from both the loyalist & colonist side), my 8th great-grandpa was in the French & Indian war in 1755, and a 4th great grandfather in the Mexican-American war. The list goes on! But it keeps me busy researching! Edit* I just found out that I'm also 1st cousins to President Thomas Jefferson!
