Every stone tells a story. Help the Smith Cemetery Board preserve the history and dignity of Smith Cemetery by supporting ongoing maintenance and care. By ensuring that each memorial has updated information and records attached to confirm those details.
"Just outside Teeswater, Ontario, lies Smith Cemetery, a part of our community's history; a quiet little place that has been there for generations. A sacred place where many of our ancestors, neighbours, and friends rest. As family members with a connection to this sacred ground, we all share in the responsibility of preserving its dignity and beauty. Smith Cemetery remains an active resting place where interment rights are still in effect, and vacant plots are available for future burials."
I permit contributors to attach: headstone photos, footstone photos, grave markers, and photos of the "section/plot" for graves that do not have a stone or marker to help identify the location in the cemetery. Contributors may also post birth, marriage, death, and census records to the memorial, as this helps greatly with verification for those buried in the cemetery.
My goal as Secretary-Treasurer and Cemetery Administrator is to update missing information (dates and family connections, etc), maintain accurate records, documenting headstone photos for future reference and/or repairs, and connect family members, as much as possible, for each person buried in Smith's.
As the newest Cemetery administrator, I want to bring fresh attention to this special place. I'm inviting you —families, neighbours, and friends—to join in helping to care and maintain it. Preserving Smith Cemetery as a respectful and well-tended place of remembrance, ensuring it continues to serve families today and remains a place of dignity for generations to come and a place to honour loved ones.
For those who maintain Memorials for Smith Cemetery: As part of your legacy after you pass on (or even now if you prefer), please consider transferring those memorials to this account. (or to a family member of someone buried in Smith Cemetery) ... Thank you for helping preserve our shared history.

Smith Cemetery holds a special place as family members of my father's mother's family are buried here ... (Donaldson, Smith, Baptist, spouses and their children, etc). Being part of the Board for the Cemetery has also been a long-time commitment for our families.
I prefer to assist families in photo requests rather than amassing a large number of Memorials (either by adding or managing), with the exception of Smith Cemetery. Long-time genealogist. PLUS: My background: 20+ years of qualified, professional experience in graphic design, desktop publishing, e-marketing, & office admin. OAE (Office Administration), Data Research, Graphics, and Media Marketing.
