I grew up in the Burks Fork section of Floyd County, Virginia. My father always told me stories of our family here in the Floyd, Patrick, and Franklin Counties of SW Virginia. It wasn't until my sister gave me an Ancestry DNA kit that I really found interest in my family history and started my research. Since then I have discovered many living cousins I went to school with in Floyd County that I didn't know I was related to. I have begun tracing my long past ancestors who settled here before me in this great nation we live in.
