Greetings. I was born and raised in Mahomet, Illinois area as were my ancestors going back to Horace Hazen (my maternal great great Grandfather, who resided in Newcomb Township) and Fielding Scott (my paternal great great Grandfather, who resided in Mahomet.) I returned to the area in 2012 and last winter (2025-2026) began combing through family history to find many wonderful photographs, correspondence, news articles, and documents, including items dating back to the mid 1800's when my Hazen ancestors first arrived.

In addition, Hazen Family has connections back to the Revolutionary War and I am official registered as a "Colonial Dame." My maternal grandmother's grandfather, John Mitchell, served in the Civil War and when he died in 1938 at the age of 99, he was the oldest living Civil War veteran in Champaign-Urbana.
