A Traveler in Space-Time | Texas

I visit historic Texas cemeteries not just to take a photo, but to learn and evolve as a human being.

Standing before a headstone from 1860, I am reminded that I am literally standing in their future. I like to trace families across time — like the Kruger and Pfluger lines — from a young couple in the 19th century, through children lost too soon and others who lived long lives, to their great-great-grandchildren at the dawn of the 21st century. All on the same soil.

Seeing their full map of existence is humbling. It reminds me that our daily noise and divisions are temporary, but the record of how we lived — with compassion, service, and light — remains permanently archived.

I joined Find a Grave to honor that record and to help preserve it with respect. Happy to help with photo requests in Central Texas.
