In 1873 three Sisters of St. Mary of Namur arrived by rail from the Mother Provincial House in Lockport, New York to a small comunity village in central Texas called Waco. On July 15,1874 the first brick was laid for Sacred Heart Academy, the first of many schools in North Central Texas.
