John Warren Goodwin, 78, Dugger, died at noon, Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at the Sullivan Co. Community Hospital.He was born March 22, 1921, in Sullivan Co., IN to George and Angie Phipps Goodwin. He was retired from Hydro-Power, Terre Haute, IN. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite of Terre Haute,IN.Survivors include his wife, Margaret Jean Cox Goodwin; two sons, Jim Goodwin and Joe Goodwin, both of Dugger; two sisters, Loretta McClanahan, Owensville, and Minnie Pope, Dugger; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. today at the Claiborne Cemetery with brother Bill Sam Phegley officiating. If friends so desire, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
