Mary (Polly) Belcher Richard, born Feb 9, 1821 on Meshack Creek, Monroe, Kentucky. Died June 9, 1907, in home near Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky.Mary's husband died of fever in 1862, a volunteer in the Union Army during the Civil War at the Military Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary never remarried and collected a pension from the Government until her death in 1907.
