ulia was one of four daughters of Judge Charles Antonio Rapallo, former justice of New York Court of Appeals. She was the only one to marry and had six children with William S. Sloan - Helen, Samuel, Margaret, William, Julian & Edith. William Sloan was the 7th child of Samuel and Margaret Elmendorf Sloan, also buried at St Phillips Church in Garrison, NY. Samuel Sloan was a railroad industrialist and president of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western rr. in the second half of the nineteenth century. The Elmendorf (Margaret Sloan) family emigrated from Holland in the 17th century and settled in Kingston, NY before moving to New Jersey after the American Revolution.
