ROY M. BENSON SR.Roy Marshall Benson Sr. 61 of Riverview Boulevard, died Thursday, April 16, at his home.The funeral will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at The Timberlake Chapel at Piedmont Funeral Home by the Rev. Max Shoaf. Burial will be in the Psalm 91 Church Cemetery.Mr. Benson was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Rowan County to Sadie Jane Benson. He was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from the Davidson County Landfill Department.Surviving are his wife, Betty Phillips Benson of the home; a daughter, Angie Edmondson of Lexington, a son, Roy Benson, Jr. of the home; a brother, Richard Peeler of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Brandon Edmondson, Chris Edmondson Jr., and two granddaughters Amanda Edmondson and Briana Benson, all of Lexington.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home.THE DISPATCH, FRIDAY, APRIL 17, 1998 ( PG.11A )
