Formed on July 30, 1923, the Lizton American Legion Auxiliary was a support group associated with Lizton American Legion Post 237. It consisted of the wives, mothers and daughters of the members of Post 237. This group met monthly and assisted with the annual fish fry. They also sponsored a local area high school girl's attendance at the annual Girl's State program. The Gold Star mothers in the Lizton Auxiliary were Charlotte Laakmann, May Ratliff and Deana Wills who lost sons in World War II. The below list was compiled from a Lizton community birthday calendar that the Auxiliary published in 1953. Those adults listed as members but not shown below are: Barbara Bramblett, Mary E. Brunes, Ruth Funk, Elinor Hatcher, Elinor MacKinnon and Jean Owens. In 1990, the Auxiliary erected a memorial to all veterans buried in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
