I remember as a child, visiting the Reedley Cemetery every Memorial Day. We would scour our garden for the biggest blooms, cover coffee cans to use as vases, and then go to the cemetery to say a prayer for our departed relatives... and of course, play on the grass. We learned that we must be respectful and not step on the headstones, and we also learned a reverence for those who came before us. That is what ignighted my passion for genealogy.
