Clara Jean RameyINVERNESS, Fla. - Clara Jean Ramey, 82, of Inverness passed away Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Inverness. Born in East Springfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Roy Hill and Margaret Susan (Dury) Hill. Clara Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the founder and vice president of H&R Mason Contractors and Tri-County Excavating from 1952-90, which was family owned and operated. She and her husband moved from Canton, in 1947, to Cleveland and to Strongsville, Ohio in 1954. In 1993, they moved to Medina, Ohio and have been seasonal residents of Iverness since 1990. Clara Jean was a former member of the Strongsville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Methodist's Women's Circle. She was a member of the Inverness Golf & Country Club, where she was a member of the 9-Holers. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ to entertain family and friends. She was a published poet and enjoyed cross stich, needlepoint, cooking and canning vegetables from her garden, camping and traveling. She cherished her family and friends. Clara Jean is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank C. Ramey of Inverness; sons, James W. Ramey and wife, Linda of Bath, Ohio and Frank T. Ramey and wife, Shawna of Medina, Ohio; daughters, Debby Savage and Lorie Heisner and husband, Keith, all of Inverness; sister, Marge Hartman of Youngstown, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Beatty. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, from 2-5 p.m. at the Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465, where funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Jonathan Beard officiating. Entombment will be in Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to: Lake Region Library, in memory of Clara Jean Ramey, 1511 Druid Road, Inverness, FL 34452.
