Martha died in Ashboro, NC at the home of her daughter Martha Cooper. At the time of her burial in New Salem her children could not afford a marker. Ten years later her son David E. Dillon tried to find her grave to put up a marker but could not locate it, per Bill Padgett her oldest grandchild. Jan Dillon
