Christopher's parents were Phillip Christian Lo(c)kenvitz and Magdalena Maria Roepke. The Lokenvitz family came from Irsul Rugen Patzig Germany. Christoper Lokenvitz (October 2, 1799- July 23, 1887) with his wife Margaretha Johanna(1807-1897), joined son Carl in 1871 and settled in Illinois. Sister Marie Dorothea Wilhelmina Lokenvitz's son Frederich Georg Christian Wittmuetz (May 16, 1854- July 30 1941) came with them. After the 1880 census Frederich moved to Papillion Nebraska with the rest of the Wittmuetz family. Brother Jacob Friedrich Johann Lokenvitz was born on August 8, 1806. He married Christian Catharina Frederica Subklew- no other information has been located on Jacob. Brother Cuno Johann Lokenvitz was born on October 20 1813. He married Christina Sophia Johanna Subklew- no other information has been located on Cuno.Sister Marie Dorothea Wilhelmina Lokenvitz (January 4 1816- April 12 1904) married Johann Bernhardt Heinrich Wittmuetz on October 29, 1837 they had 9 children. Mina came to America with her children a widow. Mina's family changed the spelling of the last names from Wittmuetz to Wittmuss.
