My Ancestry appears to entirely Caucasian Western European, researched as far back as the 1st Century AD Roman Empire. However, a number of my relatives married, or partnered intimately with, people of African, African-American, and African-Native American descent. Among the Living, this includes myself, and at least 1 1st cousin, a child of a 1st cousin, and a 2nd cousin, as part of the Living today. But a number of deceased relatives also married, or partnered with, people of African descent, and there are a fair number of deceased relatives. Sadly, some of the relatives were the product of forced sexual relationships during the period of Legalized U.S. Slavery. All that is most unfortunate, but a fact we have to live with as it can't be denied.This includes the descendants of cousin US President Thomas Jefferson and his wife's half-sister / slave-mistress Sally Hemmings. I am also a cousin to Thomas Jefferson's wife, but not a cousin to Sally.
