George Gerjets, 82, of Ada died Friday, January 10th at his home. He had been in failing health for 5 years. Funeral services were held on Tuesday January 14th at Grace Luthern Church of Ada at 2:00 with Rev. Lloyd R. Wallace officiating. Burial was at the Ada Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Habeck, George Habeck, Carl Granberg, Lorin Stadum, Serena's Larson and Rodin Salverson. Mrs. Ester Olson was organist. Mrs. Donald Ogaard sang. Mr. George Gerjets was born Dec. 7th 1892 to Mr and Mrs Cesjan Gerjets in Hartsburg Illinois. After coming to Ada, he operated the Ada Dray Line and Hotel Ada until 1972 when he retired. He married Maybelle Blomseth on March 16 1931 in Ada and she survives along with seven children-Victoria,Ada; Allen, Minneapolis; Erlin, Blaine; Rudolph, Seattle, Wash.; David, Flom; Mrs. Virgil (Doris) Busch, Coon Rapids; Alva, Ferguson Falls. One sister Mrs, Jean (Martha) Lyng of Ferguson Falls. There are 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Grace Luthern Church and a Veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion.
