Rita M. (Storehalder) Murd, 74, of Berkey, OH, passed away February 24, 2011, at the Franciscan Care Center. She was born January 2, 1937 in Grand Rapids, OH, to parents Albon and Bernadine (Heinze) Storehalder, and they preceded her in death. She married William E. Murd, on May 18, 1957, and they have enjoyed 53 years together. Rita was a long and active member of the Holy Trinity Parish where she served on the Altar Society. She was a member of the Joseph W. Diehn Post, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Eagles. Rita enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She was especially known for her fried chicken and peanut butter pie. Rita is survived by her loving husband William; children Cathy (Pete) Nolan of Batesville, IN; Ron (Tonya) Murd, of Lyons, OH, Karen (Brian) Seeger of Whitehouse, OH, and Ken (Cheryl) Murd of Chesterfield, VA, grandchildren Curt and Andy Nolan, Rob Murd and his fiancée Ashley Goins, Kiley Murd, Alexis and Brad Seeger, and Kendra Murd; brothers Donald (Jane), Paul (Joyce), and Tom (Marcy) Storehalder; and brother in law Raymond Burkard. She was preceded in death by brothers Bernard, John, and Dallas Storehalder; and sisters Ruth Snell and Shirley Burkard.Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Sunday February 27th from 2 to 9 PM, where Scripture Services will begin at 8:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marygrove, Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Wolfinger Cemetery.
