The Holland Dakota Landbouw Compagnie was a cooperative farm venture which owned many sections of land in Stark County, North Dakota. On June 28, 1910 the S. S. RIJNDAM docks at Ellis Island with the group of the 44 Holland Dakota Landbouw Compagnie opportunists in addition to Arie and Hendrikus Colijn (primary owners). The tenants farmed on shares,(farmers 3/4, and the company 1/4). Farmers supplied the labor and the company supplied the equipment. The Holland Dakota Landbouw Compagnie operations did not have the success they had anticipated. The organization eventually dissolved and began selling land to some of their tenant farmers.
