These are the Roche's from my Family Tree. They started out in Spain and France and migrated to Pensacola where many of them are buried. Jose Roig of Spain (later anglicized to Roche) migrated to Pensacola, Florida. (possibly by way of Cuba). That little fact is still being researched.One of his sons married a Michelet girl whose father and mother originated in France, thus the Spanish/French mix. Jose Roig bought some land in New Orleans with another man and several of the Roche boys moved to New Orleans and started families there.It is also possible that there is mulatto blood that is in this line as many of the Roches I have looked at in New Orleans are mulatto back in the 1800's and my DNA shows me to be 2% black.
