Eugene was the son of Charles Conner and Neva May Moles Conner. Charles died when Genie was 2 year old. His mother remarried to Newton Smith. He had two siblings Dean Conner and Ruth Smith. Dean and Gene spent much of their time with their double cousin John Wendell Conner of Butler, Mo. The three were more like brothers as their mothers were sisters and their fathers were brothers.Genie was Kia in Okinawa just as few days short of his 23rd birthday. Dean and John W. Conner were both serving in the Pacific at the time of his death. He was orginionally buried on Okinawa but his body was brought back to be buried in Kansas City. John W. Conner served as a pallbearer. John Wendell Conner (1924-2009) missed his cousin all of his life. Many times tears would come to his eyes as a old man when he mentioned or told a story about Genie.Genie you are not forgotten by your extended Conner family.
