Freebon B. , Frebon Petty , Pettey, was born on January 28, 1863, in Westport, Massachusetts, her father, Edward B, was 42, and her mother, Julia Ann Almy Mariah Mosher , was 38. Her mother and sister died in 1867 from Typhoid Fever. Her father remarried to Sarah (Westgate) Haskins. On the 1870 Census she is shown living in Westport with Edward, Sarah, brother George and Grandfather Philip. When she was 8 She was sent to live at the Westport Almshouse from March 1871 to March 1872. She was then sent to live with Adam Bennet in Dartmouth. He was the Superintendant of the Almshouse of Westport and Dartmouth. On the 1880 Census Freebon (Freburn) is shown living/working with the Bennett family as a Domestic Servant. She married Frederick Allen Tripp on September 16, 1885, in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She lived at 149Russells Mills rd. They eventually moved to Acushnet. Tarkiln Hill Rd and 3 Main st. There she ran a store with one of her sisters. She had two children during her marriage to Frederick A Tripp. Lucy Almy Tripp 1888-1933 and Mabel 1898- 1911. After Lucy died in 1933 she helped to raise her Grandchildren Frederick , Mabel and Dorothea Galligan, She also helped to raise her Great Grandchildren Frederick T Galligan Jr. and Patricia Galligan after their mother Leona Galligan passed away. She was a strong , tough, but loving Grandmother. She died on March 30, 1951, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the age of 88, and was buried beside her husband in Rural Cemetery.Her Father is Edward B.
