Poppelsdorf Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Bonn still in use. It was established from 1798 at the northern foot of the Kreuzberg and consecrated in 1800. Several later extensions transformed it into a park-like cemetery of approximately 12.65 hectares containing numerous historic graves. Most of the cemetery has been protected as a listed monument since 1984.
