Originally located in Valley Forge, Weston, Connecticut, The bodies in this hamlet's cemetery were disinterred and moved here to Redding's Hull Cemetery in anticipation of the flooding of the Saugatuck River to form the Saugatuck Reservoir in the late 1930's. Some of the graves were over two hundred years old; the boxes were all gone The remains were placed in small boxes and reburied in Reddings' Hull Cemetery, where the graves and tombstones were lined up in rows in military fashion.

The development of the reservoirs, which displaced hundreds of people from their homes; closed schools, churches and stores; rerouted tens of miles of road; dismantled highway bridges; and caused relocation of the dead to new cemeteries on higher ground.

Hull Cemetery is surrounded by a beautiful stone wall and is very well maintained.
