In 1761, Daniel Wilcox donated 60 square rods of land (just over 1/3 of an acre) to begin the cemetery. In 1885, Wilcox Cemetery became a Connecticut corporation. In 1924, R.O. Clark, president of the Clark Brick Company, donated and constructed the brick and wrought iron wall that graces the cemetery entrance and the street side of the property. Generations of Wilcoxes and their progeny rest in the cemetery. Other names seen frequently include Kelsey, Savage, Hubbard, North, and Benson.
