Saint Amadeus Cemetery

In 1858, Pardon and Nancy (Jameson) Deuel of Alburgh deeded a small plot of land at this location to the Catholic Church. Bishop DeGoesbriand of Burlington and Father J. Louis Cam caused a chapel to be erected. This was the first Catholic church in Alburgh, and the cemetery grew around it. The first burial is that of Timothy Mott in 1867.
