"Oakwood is home to more than 1900 (known) residents. Residents include soldiers, slaves, religious leaders, librarians, former mayors of Wyandotte, and more. Unfortunately, the last grounds keeper of Oakwood was filled with rage when he was fired from his job. After losing his position in the cemetery he decided to burn all of the cemetery burial records. With a lot of research and Henry Thon's ledgers we were able to locate the names of more than 1800 people who Thon's funeral home buried in Oakwood."
