View of the Old Babcock house from the Cemetery

Picture taken in March 2007 while visiting from Ft Worth, TX. Many of my relatives are buried at Mt Vernon Cemetery.

Mt. Vernon Church, Burrville, Morgan County, TN, formerly the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church; founded in 1850. The Mt. Vernon Cemetery surrounds the church. Burrville was originally named Mt. Vernon from 1830 to 1881, renamed Burrville when a post office was established as there was already a Mt. Vernon post office in Blount County. Clinton, TN was named Burrville from 1801 to 1809 and renamed because of the Burr-Hamilton Duel in 1804
