The town of Stephensport was surveyed in 1803 by P. C. Brashear.
The land was owned by Daniel J. Stephens and his father before him, Richard Stephens was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The first known burial was in 1851. Cedar Hill overlooks the Ohio River and the town of Stephensport in Breckinridge County, Kentucky.
