Reed-Woods Cemetery
Also known as Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery
Smyrna, Rutherford County, Tennessee, USA
Many of the burials were believed to have dated to the 1800s. At the time of the relocation, there had been no burials for many years, and the cemetery was quite overgrown. Based upon census and other documents, it appears that this had been the cemetery for an African-American farming community established after the War Between the States. It is probable that some of those buried had been slaves in the area.
