The cemetery is used and maintained by the County of Maricopa, for burials of deceased indigents.
There are NO personal markers or headstones allowed. The graves are marked with an approximately 4" round brass or bronze disc, which is attached to a shaft driven into the ground.
The markers simply have a name and one date. It is unknown if this is the death date or burial date. Many of them are simply marked "Unknown".
Directions to the cemetery:
From Litchfield Road and West Camelback Road in Litchfield Park, go 2.5 miles west on West Camelback Road to Alsup Road, and turn north on Alsup Road. Alsup Road is a DEAD END, ending at the south boundary of the Luke Air Force Base.
The cemetery is on the west side of Alsup Road, approximately 1/4 mile north of West Camelback Road.
