Greenbush Cemetery Association was established in Feb. 1848 in Lafayette, Indiana. Today the grounds contain around ten acres of burials, including the four sections of the first Lafayette City Burial grounds, established in 1843.
There were burials from the First City cemetery that were transferred here in the early 1860s.. Other deeds suggest there were burials in the lower sections as early as 1837. Many unmarked paupers are buried here as well.
Burial records have been used for the Lafayette City and Greenbush sections. An important note; A gap of the burial records for the Greenbush cemetery were lost between 1851 to 1871.
Tippecanoe County Area Genealogists are working to finish and update these burials.
The Greenbush Association is now closed, and the Fairfield Township Trustee oversees these grounds.
