The present church building was built in the 14th or 15th century. There is some difficulty in dating the age of the church as extensive restoration and rebuilding was done in 1747 and again in 1873. A newspaper press release dated 1874 states, with the extensive restoration and rebuilding, that little remains of the old church. It is a beautiful and historical church which has a nave with some early Perpendicular work and the chancel a little earlier in the transitional period. The tower is 14th century. There is the tenor bell that was re-cast in January of 1901. Inside the church are several memorials including a letter from King Charles I dated 1643, a war memorial for World War I and World War II, and several memorial windows from families. The churchyard has a curious shape with ancient stones near the porch that are Celtic in origin and a granite cross, which was found on a farm and later incorporated in a tombstone near the north wall. It is well-kept with flowering bushes and shade trees. The church is usually locked except during services. It is located near the corner of Church St and Green Lane with the address The Green Lane, St Erth, TR 27 6 HS.
