City Cemetery No. 3 is on the Eastside, just east of Palmetto St.,

north of St. Mary's Catholic and the German Lutheran and Catholic Cemeteries.

Within the boundaries of the historic City Cemetery No. 3, there are several African American cemeteries, as they are not separate locations, but more like sections. They are as follows: San Antonio Lodge No 1 Cem.; United Brother of Friendship Cem.; St. Elmo Lodge No 25 Cem.; Beacon Light Masonic Lodge Cem.; St Peter Claver Catholic Church Cem.; the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows Cem.; Knights of Pythias Cemetery. The African American undertakers on the death certificates would many times just list City #3, Masonic, UBF, Odd Fellows, K of P, or Catholic. Also, the Old Sextant Burial Records for San Antonio from 1893-2007 list burials as City #3.
