History:
On June 27, 1843, Methodist Episcopal Trustees James Crawford, Thomas Goodfellow, John Hughes, James Barton, Jacob Smith, Samuel Rebert, and David Brickley purchased a tract of land from William and Eliza Tipton, paying $15.18 and recording the deed on March 19, 1844. They built their first church on a part of the land where the cemetery is now located. Thirty-two years later the present brick church was constructed on the eastern side of the church cemetery and dedicated on December 19, 1875. The earliest burial was in 1802. In the 1920s it used to have an iron railing around the outside. The Green and Gold sign was an Eagle Scout Project by Daniel Witters about 2015. He raised part of the money and the church donated the rest. The sign cost $2,200
