The church is officially designated as a Grade 1 listed building. Inside are 76 memorials including a 14th century tomb, and there are more medieval fittings and furniture than any other Cheshire church. The churchyard has 51 gravestones from the 17th century and five listed structures, including a Grade 2 listed late 13th century canopied tomb. The yew tree in the churchyard is thought to be at least 1000 years old.
There is a more recent extension to the burial ground just outside the village on the west side of the A34: 'Astbury Cemetery'.
